Woo hoo! Paperbacks of Never Too Late for Heroes arrived today and I’m sooooo excited!

And because I’m excited, I’m doing a giveaway just in time for the launch (release date March 4th at Ylva, March 18th at Amazon etc).

Two lucky winners will each receive a signed paperback of the book, plus a ridiculously cute and fabulous superhero keychain, as shown in the pic below. The giveaway is open to all – I’ll post anywhere in the world.

How do I enter, you ask? Easy – comment below and let me know either who is your favourite female superhero, or what superpower you’d love to have. It’ll be fun to hear your answers!

I’d say for me Wonder Woman is my favourite – I grew up watching the TV series starring Lynda Carter. It was full of crappy special effects and her outfit was questionable, but she and her kickass ways certainly helped the young A. L. Brooks know that boys really weren’t her thing 😂. And the remakes starring Gal Gadot are brilliant.

I’ll pick two winners at random at 8am CET Tuesday 3rd March

Good luck everyone!

  1. Well, she’s not always a ‘hero’ but my favorite character is Mystique of the X-Men. Not only does she have cool shapeshifting powers, but she was a canon lesbian for years. Which, in comics, was HUGELY rare.

  2. Oooo fave superhero that’s a toughone but I am gonna have to say Iron Man (I like the films, lol!) And his attitude problem 😂

If I could have a super power thoughn it’d be Emma Swan’s, and I’d know when people are lying!

(Having said that, mind reading would be cool but it’d be a nightmare for my anxiety. Maybe invisibility would help? 🤔)

P.s. thank you for being so kind with an amazing giveaway, and I am excited to read the book!

    1. My superhero would be DCI Jane Tennyson. What a woman, what a copper, what a ground breaking series.
My superpower would be to suck all the hatred and negativity out of this poor, poor world.

    1. Superhero? I don’t know of she falls into this category but I always thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the most important and meaningful female heroes ever. I believe she made a lot o little girls of her time believe in themselfs…I don’t know, I always will be grateful for this hero.

  3. Wonder woman definitely. She’s hot and a badass. Superpower would be to transport myself to somewhere by just thinking about it. That would be cool.
This is really nice of you to do. Can’t wait to read your new book.

  4. Oh well, I’m with you. I also grew up watching Lynda Carter as wonder woman. I even used to put stuff on my wrists pretending I was her lol. Then I met some others like Captain Marvel and Black Widow (granted just like mystique Black Widow isn’t necessarily a heroe, but they’re really great and smoking hot 😏😁). I love storm and Jean Grey from the X-men. Can I count Cheetara from the Thundercats? 🤔 😁

Anyway, I’ll stop here, as you can see I love superheroes. OK my superpower would be something like mystique’s, being able to emulate any other power 😉. That would be amazing!

    1. If I had to pick just one superhero, because I have a few, I’d say Supergirl. While I haven’t read the comics, I love the growth of Kara Danvers as she goes from Cat Grant’s bubbly, unsure assistant just coming out as a hero to a reporter with more confidence in all aspects of her life.

The message of hope, compassion, and unity ticks all the boxes for me as far as how she and her friends and family handle everything that comes their way. The amount of girl power on that show goes beyond just her and her abilities, too. What’s not to love about more kickass women with or without powers, right? 🙂

  5. Superhero? Wow, I know it’s kind of obvious, but Wonder Woman…..gosh even though I haven’t seen the movie yet! I own it! Just waiting for the special time! However in general, real life, first responders are my hero’s ! Huge respect for them. ❤

  7. Wonder Woman was one of the first female superheroes on my radar growing up (there were few to choose from then) so she holds a special place in my heart although I love that there are now more to choose from. I’d love to see a WW movie prequel set entirely on Themyscira given the option. 🙂
Having read an ARC of Never Too Late For Heroes, I can highly recommend it with its fab batch of badass women and hope it does well. Best wishes to you AL Brooks and continued success.

  9. I would have to pick Wonder Woman (and I got to meet Lynda Carter last year and she was amazing). If I could have a super power it would be teleportation. I love going places but I hate getting there.

  10. Vau, this giveaway sounds amazing. Super.
Now, I don’t have a fave superhero, but I love the fact that they are all able to kick some ass.
As for me, I would love to be invisible. I’m thinking I could do some awesome stuff while not being seen.

  11. I enjoyed watching Wonder Woman when I was growing up, however, I know she didn’t have a super power as such, but I was so in love with Jaime Sommers AKA The Bionic Woman. She was kick arse and did it with style and grace.

  12. My favorite would have to be black panther’s sister. I know she is technically not a traditional superhero, but she f****** rocks!!!

  15. Captain Marvel is my favorite thanks to Brie Larson!

I’d love to be able to teleport. I would use it to travel the world. And, you know, do superhero stuff.

  16. No real “favorite” for but I appreciate (a lot) Sara Lance from “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” (portrayed by Caity Lotz) and, even if I’m not a fan (far from it) of “Batwoman”, nor I’m a fan of Ruby Rose, I confess that in this role, Ruby is not that bad …and, at least, she is openly gay like Sara is openly bi … I’m so tired of the luke warm comics characters on the big screen ….

    Good luck everyone !!!

  17. so many superheroes to love! currently, in the mcu, i’d say Valkyrie (love Tessa Thompson!) – but comic books: Thundra – she’s like the marvel equivalent of Wonder Woman as she’s from the femizons. i hope the She-Hulk show they’re planning is going to bring on the A-Force in some capacity (make them movies, you cowards!) and Thundra will be among them.

sorry, to geek out on you so hard but you asked. 😀

  20. my favourite is captain marvel.
she is so strong and independent. brie did a great job with that role, she looked amazing and tough. I like how carol can save the universe and can be on her own feet without any help.
If I had a super power I would like to have fast travel ability or warp hole something like that. I want to see the world and maybe help people in a burning buildings 🙂

  21. Gal Gadot has definitely made me a fan of Wonder Woman. However, as a kid I loved Robin. My brother and I would watch Batman on tv with Adam West. He would dress up as Batman and I would be Robin. We played in a Batcave made out of a cardboard box while watching the show.

  24. My superhero would have to be the Goddess Athena. She represented the best of what a strong woman could do and be and was worthy of true adoration and veneration.

  25. I always had a soft spot for Storm (Ororo Munroe) as a superhero, to be able to to control the elements always so awe inspiring.

  26. My favorite is Thunder, she is powerful and have a clear vision of the world. Her adaptation for tv was perfect too. And she is black and lesbian, so basically, she’s a goddess.

And if I could have a superpower, I wish I could travel in time and space. So I could watch interesting things, see my ancients and discover my origins (this is how you say it in english? O.o)
