Hey! Welcome to my website—thanks for dropping by.

My name is A.L. Brooks, and I write fiction about women loving women. I’m from the UK, and I currently live in Frankfurt, Germany, although over the years I have lived in places as far afield as Aberdeen and Australia.

As I am, much to my disappointment, still not able to retire, I work 9-5 in corporate financial systems. That keeps me in front of a computer screen for the majority of my day, so to counteract that, and also my deep love for dark chocolate, I try to get to the gym at least 3 times a week. Oh, and by the way, that chocolate has to be the really dark stuff—you know, at least 70% cocoa solids. None of that wussy milky crap.

I’ve always wanted to write, from a very early age. Most of what I wrote back then was abysmal and embarrassing and has since been destroyed for the sake of all humanity. Now, however, I like to think I’m doing a little better. I love to write. I just love it. I will happily spend many hours a week in front of my own computer screen (after doing hours of that in my day job, go figure?!), just to spill out all the words and stories that are floating around in my head.

When not writing I like travelling all over the world, going out for meals (although I do enjoy cooking, it’s always so much nicer when someone else cooks for you), and discovering great wines and craft beers. I listen to pumped up house music in the gym, but mellow jazz from the likes of Diana Krall, Chet Baker and Ella Fitzgerald at home. Oh, and I read. Lots.
